SOUND HEALING: Certified Sound Healer Kelvin Young will present a sound healing event with bowls, chimes, bells, and more from 3:30 – 5 p.m. in Room 127 of White Hall on the Midtown campus. Young is also a recovery support specialist, author, and speaker, and he will share his perspectives and experiences in overcoming childhood trauma, substance abuse, addictions and incarcerations. During his last time in prison, Young said he got to the point where he was “sick and tired of being sick and tired” and he learned about yoga, meditation, and sound healing. He realized it was up to him to take back his life.
Through introspection, patience, and determination to be a better father to his daughter, Young addressed his past traumas and mental health issues. He has been in recovery for several years, and he became a certified sound healer and recovery support specialist to help others to overcome their mental health issues. Young said,“We are persons first. We are not our disease. We are not our mental health issues. We are more than that.”
Please come and meet Kelvin, hear his story and enjoy his sound healing event. For more information, visit www.soulcarelovellc.com or contact Christel Autuori at autuoric@wcsu.edu.
